This year, we reflect on the 150th anniversary of the Chicago Fire. An event that re-built our city, and provided an opportunity for unprecedented advancements in building technology and building safety. The Chicago Fire Department Foundation continues this historic mission and supports CFD initiatives for education, fire prevention, training and equipment needs that are not funded through city, state or federal budgets. The Foundation also assists the firefighters/paramedics and their families in times of need. Major initiatives in the last couple of years have included handing out hundreds of smoke detectors with 10 year batteries in Chicago’s most fire prone and economically challenged neighborhoods, a new Virtual Reality fire safety program to be presented in the schools, and purchasing drone aircraft, as well as finding drone pilot training.

Co-Chairs for this years event included:

Greg Brown, Chairman & CEO, Motorola Solutions Inc.
Davis Casper, U.S. CEO of BMO Financial Group.
Scott Santi, Chairman and CEO of ITW
Jennifer Scanlon, President and CEO of UL Inc.
Edward Wehmer, Founder and CEO Wintrust Financial.
