Tryon Swimming Pond

A natural swimming pool maintains clean, clear water with a natural biological filtering system. Water is continuously drawn thru a biological rock filter system and waterborne plantings that include water lillies, horsetails, sedges, bulrush and irises. The water is circulated through an ultra violet sterilizer and returned through the pool with aerating water features. These include a naturalized stream bed and a horse trough fountain. The pond is lined and covered with pebbles to maintain a natural appearance. The pond was built against the back wall of an existing tractor shed. A sunshade was created with a bamboo topped trellis. The deck is covered with salvaged concrete pavers.
