Tryon Farm Natural Swimming Pond
We are designing a natural swimming pond at Tryon Farm in conjunction with the Tryon Farm Architect and Developer, Edward Noonan and Associates, and a natural swimming pool consultant, Total Habitat from Kansas. A natural swimming pool maintains clean, clear water with a natural biological filtering system. Water is continuously drawn thru a biological rock filter system and waterborne plantings that include water lillies, horsetails, cat tails, irises and mint. The water is circulated thru an ultra violet sterilizer and returned thru the pool with aerating water features, which include a naturalized stream bed and a horse trough fountain. The pond is lined and covered with Lake Michigan pebbles to maintain a natural appearance.
Our pond is being built against the backdrop of an existing tractor shed that will be revamped with a grape vine covered trellis and the deck will be created using salvaged concrete pavers.
