Sunset
Built in a portion of an old grocery store, this startup restaurant evokes a bright California Summer character, where the food and service is a show to enjoy. At the far end of the dining room, the open cook line is set behind a grand proscenium where the chefs are on stage. A backlit 70-foot by 15-foot tall steel coil drapery shimmers behind an over-scaled banquette. Maple panels, zinc metal countertops, and a stained concrete floor provide a stylish yet economical backdrop for the large colorful mural at the bar. In addition to the architectural features, the restaurant design included the functional kitchen layout and technical expertise for the execution.
