Senior
Associate
Jen joined Burns + Beyerl Architects in June of 1999, following graduation from Ball State University. She began as an intern architect, where she learned valuable skills and design techniques from the senior staff. Soon after joining the firm, she began managing small projects of her own and has since seen many successful projects completed under her supervision. In the fall of 2005, she completed the licensure examinations and received her Architecture license from the State of Illinois. BBA promoted her to Senior Associate and she continues to manage several exciting projects in Chicago and the North Shore. She also continues to guide the CAD standards in the office.
Jen grew up in Granger, Indiana, a small town about 100 miles east of Chicago. She chose a state school with a great reputation for architecture and design, and after a vigorous 5-year program, she graduated with a Bachelor's of Architecture, a BS in Environmental Design and a minor in Historic Preservation. White attending BSU, Jen had the ability to travel extensively in the States and abroad and participated in the 1997 "PolyArk" trip, which traveled constantly for 3 months around Europe, Asia and Africa. Also, during her years at BSU, an internship opportunity lead her to Chicago and after graduation Jen returned to the windy city and has resided here ever since.
In September of 2007, Jen made it official and married her long time boyfriend, Kevin Hense. The two met at Ball State in the Architecture program and Kevin currently enjoys a position as Senior Associate for VOA Associates in Chicago. While they enjoyed living in the Wrigleyville neighborhood for years, Kevin and Jen have settled into a new home in the Buena Park neighborhood, but continue to be avid Cubs fans.
