Raised in Chicago and the northern suburbs, John has maintained a connection with the area throughout his life. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, receiving both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Architecture with a focus on high-rise design and construction.  As part of his academic training, John attended the E’cole de Architecture in Versailles, France for his Junior year.

Upon graduation in 1996, John began his career with the award-winning design firm, Powell/Kleinschmidt.  This experience provided an opportunity to explore projects in a very different scale and level of detail than his education provided. Most recently, John has been involved with Sustainable Architecture.  John is currently focused on building systems and how to lessen the environmental impact of construction.
